Pure Vermont Maple Syrup at the Sugar Shack
The Sugar Shack is located in Arlington, Vermont on Historic RT7A (Sugar Shack Lane). We make our Pure Vermont Maple Syrup in our Sugar Shack Sugar House here at the Sugar Shack.
The Sugar Shack has it’s own evaporator on site. Late spring, we gather sap from the maple trees. It takes roughly 40 gallons of sap to make one gallon of syrup. We have some of the newest technology for this process. The season normally begins late February, and ends early April. We need cool nights and warm days in order for the trees to produce sap so we can boil it down to syrup. There are four grades of syrup. Delicate, which is lightest in color and maple taste, Amber Rich which is a little darker than Delicate with more maple flavor, Dark Robust which is a strong maple flavor, and Very Dark. This is our strongest maple flavor.
We offer samples of all 4 grades of our pure maple syrup in the store, so you can pick your favorite. – Free sugar house tours with samples of hot maple syrup during sugaring season! Visit end of Feb, and month of March to catch our sugaring in full swing!
